Dallas is well known around the world for its football team and for its TV oil families. Any visitor to Dallas will quickly discover that there’s so much more to this amazing city.

The Dallas summer is hard to beat if you’re a fan of sunny weather. There are so many things to do. It’s easy to feel spoiled for choice.

This article lists five of the best Dallas attractions that you can’t afford to miss during your summer vacation.

  1. Dallas Zoo

The Dallas Zoo is both the oldest and the largest zoo in Texas. The zoo takes up 100 acres, and it lies just 3 miles south of the downtown area. You can expect to see a wide range of different animals at the Dallas Zoo. For example, they have tigers, gorillas, and koalas.

The Zoo is so large that you could easily spend a whole day there. There are also plenty of restaurants and food stands around the park, so you don’t need to worry about bringing any food along.

Keep in mind that this location can get quite busy on the weekends. It makes sense to go on a weekday if you can.

  1. Mesquite Championship Rodeo

No trip to Texas would be complete without a visit to the Rodeo. This Rodeo facility is quite close to downtown. You should be able to get there in around 15 minutes from the downtown area in normal traffic.

This is one of the top Dallas tourist spots, and various different events are held throughout the year. Make sure you check in advance to see when and what the events are.

  1. Dallas Farmers Market

The Dallas farmers market is one of the best outdoor activities in Dallas on hot summer days. The market is so close to the downtown area that you could even walk there if you wanted.

Here you will find a huge variety of artisanal food vendors to suit every taste.

The reunion tower is the perfect place to get a good view of Dallas in the summer. This tower offers panoramic views of the city from a height of 470 feet. You’ll be able to pick out all of Dallas’ biggest landmarks.

The botanical garden is the perfect place to visit on a hot summer day. The Dallas botanical garden is an urban oasis that offers the perfect retreat from the busy downtown area.
