Eating a balanced diet with lots of fruits and vegetables can help improve bad breath. As expected, foods like onions or garlic may cause an odor when digested as they give off chemicals.

But that isn’t the only cause. The reactions caused in your digestive system from overeating processed foods causes smells. One example of this is acid reflux. Even if you haven’t been eating anything smelly, acid reflux is one of the internal main causes of bad breath in humans.

And, if you are conscious about what you’ve eaten, carry some flavored chewing gum with you. It’s a sure-fire way to keep the odors at bay, as well as providing benefits that come with salivating.

  1. Underlying Health Conditions 

Conditions like diabetes or urinary tract infections can lead to bad breath, as well as sinusitis. Sinuses are air-filled cavities found behind the nose and eyes. An untreated infections could be the cause of chronic bad breath.

When these areas become infected, they can cause uncomfortable symptoms such as pain in the face and pressure in the head. The infection may spread to other parts of the body such as the lungs, ears and even teeth and gums causing more infections or different illnesses such as diabetes.

And, don’t forget there are many other ways to cure bad breath as well, but we’ve touched on the biggest ones.

Bad breath is uncomfortable for your spouse or partner. It can make you feel guilty or embarrassed if they know how bad it is for you. So, they may try to avoid you or give you negative looks or comments.
